Dear Mr & Mrs Piggy,

I'm Gie, from Malaysia. I'd like to offer my sincere apologies for the way my fellow Malaysians (read fellow muslims) might have surprised you and the whole clan in the latest "porcinated" Cadbury commotion. I believe, you have seen the many videos and read the many news reportings demanding un-clever things - from asking the gov to shut the company down to urging Cadbury to pay the lard-tainted consumers for blood transfusion (so that the blood could be cleansed once and for all?hahhaaaaaaaa!oppss..forgive my un-ladylike burst of laughters!I found this ridiculously FUNNY, really)

The thing is Mr & Mrs Piggy, though I'm well aware of the unlawfulness of your blood, meat etc (Al-Quran 5:3), I'd like to assure you that I, personally refuse to jump on the bandwagon for I found those demands lack "hikmah" when uttered. 

For long have I wondered, until when will I get to see the beauty of hikmah-laden utterences, poisely coming out from my Malaysian muslim bros and sisters, when things like this happen. For long have I waited, to really witness the beautiful mind working at its fullest, controlling the messed brain, mindless tongue and the angered heart of my brethren when faced with challenges. For long have I waited to really see the beautiful Quran be opened, read, understood and referred to by my Muslim brothers and sisters when their heart gets down and disappointed, when they get provoked and hurt. For long have I waited when will I get to see "hikmah", graciously placed, when "hikmah" is needed. Please and please...pray with me Mr & Mrs Piggy, that, the beauty of our Merciful Creator's teaching soars above any other - defeating all those untruths and a speck of nonsense.

p/s: i don't agree with what ACCIN's rep says regarding blood transfusion, even if it is not supposed to be taken literally, as suggested by some. It just sounds awfully "funny" and "un-intelligent". Just why must we say something unnecessary and unneeded in the event like this?Isn't it unintentional consuming of pork is forgiven in Islam as mentioned in Al-An'am 145, here (please any friends..enlighten me on this if you feel I'm not)

I found myself  blog walking in this space called, OutSyed the Box yesterday, got attracted by a discussion on - Feeling Embarrassed Over "Prophet Marrying A Six Year Old".

As I always am attached to matters like this - masked cultural practices, women related issues, demonization of Islam (which in most instances rooted from some muslims' misinterpretation of Islam/ Quran/ Sunnah & cultural interpretation of many practices which often time patriarchal), the discussion over this issue has stirred my psyche. really.

There was a sudden urge that said I needed to respond to the issue posted in this "Tuan Syed's" blog, intending to share and expand the discussion to something fruitful (I badly need to be back to school again, having f2f discussion with some cikgus, friends like I used to. Amin, ya Rabb!).Sadly enough: my sloth-cursed-internet connection had failed my good intention. And tonight, this is where it takes me: blogging about this.

I don't wish to go deeper tonight as I need to go to bed real soon :) I just wanna place something that is supposed to be my "comment" on this Tuan Syed's comment box, here. Things, I feel so strongly about, so that they would be kept here: becoming a proof of my stirred heart and worked brain :)

Some would delve into the differences (physical especially) between a small kid today and a kid of prophet’s days. That needs years of research to find the truth, I believe. Some would simply play finger-pointing, making matters so small big and bigger and some would deviate a little/a lot from the real topic, i.e: child marriage --> allowed or not allowed --> prophet’s story vs modern story --> shiah’s doing???duh..

When things got so messed up like this, I love to think that Islam is so beautiful, there is nothing in Islam that will conflict with 1) the fitrah of mankind (physical, mental, emotional, even spiritual immaturity in most of the kids are their fitrah, aren’t they?) and 2) things like basic human rights that the child bride so deserve i.e: good education, health etc.

Child marriage denies all the above. It takes away small girls’ innocence; it breaks the very fitrah of the girls. And definitely, in most cases, it denies them the rights to go to school, to blossom into maturity naturally, to be healthy etc.

Isn’t it contradictory to what Islam teach when small girls of immaturity be married off?

I cringe at the cultural practices so called “islamic” and “prophet-following” like this one. And wonder, why those practicing don’t care to look at the purpose of marriage in Islam itself: to create Mawaddah & Rahmah between the husband and wife.

Would/could an 8-yr-old wife understand marriage itself and mawaddah and rahmah in one?

Of shiah’s doing – I cringe again and again at some muslims’ preference of finger-pointing, proving their inability to exercise their brain to the fullest and practice logic even in a matter like this. 

Why is it so difficult for us to understand that “Islam itu agama fitrah, sangatlah secocok dgn fitrah manusia”? and..where will this Shiah’s doings finger-pointing take us as far as child marriage is concerned?

I LIKE!I LIKE! I LIKE!

(many thanks to wired.co.uk- i do have lots of ?????? with those thumb-ups, i seriously do)

The FB LIKE button has got me mesmerised. It makes things so damn simple that clicking a button is just enough to show our interest/ support etc on the LIKEd matters. What else is simpler than clicking a button, right? It does not need any typing, spelling checking, tone adjusting, words selecting... and at times, clicking this button doesn't even need a thinking as liking the post is all that matters..alahai..there sinks the brain.

To me, this very button on FB can be a good proof that humans are really suffering from the NPD - the Narcissistic Personality Disorder that has long been diminishing people's sensitivity towards other things. We post things on FB - instead of expecting honest comments on the posted matter, we hope to get LIKEs & this is the problem. When self-admiration rules FB, coupled with the LIKEs from viewers (who could be total strangers) what else do we get other than boosting egos and mountains of self-admiration?No sharing views, no exchanging ideas, no self-humility, no space for self-muhasabah, 0 self-balancing -  as all of these have been deliciously slurped by the Narcissus.

We humans, are all narcisstic-we like ourselves, and like it even more when we are liked by others too..betoi, tak??? Even I can't say NO to this. pathetic, isn't it?

BUT FBookers, please! there are times when we need more than those LIKEs laahh. When people post "Aku menci ko..kurang ajor, bangs@t" menci!/ "set@n ahh PKK, BNN, PASS" or even " Camno nak poi Soromban, Jang" etc  (these are all made-up, ok) - LIKEs are just not relevant !People really need words here - good good words, of course.

Well! well! well ! allow me to say this:

"FB LIKE Button pleases simple hearts. Of minds - it pleases not"

(I shall post this on my wall and see how many LIKEs do I get :) So narcissus me, isn't it???hahaha)

"Quran memberi amaran bahawa bangsa Arab akan mengabaikannya.[7] Jika cerdik pandai Arab pada waktu itu memberi perhatian berat kepada amaran ini serta mengelaknya, amaran ini akan memberi manfaat kepada generasi-generasi kemudian. Malangnya, amaran ini gagal didepani dengan berani, maka penyelewangan-penyelewangan berlaku. Banyak hadis palsu timbul. Musuh-musuh Islam menggunakan nama besar Nabi Muhammad untuk memesongkan mereka dari jalan lurus yang Tuhan ajarkan kepada mereka. Melalui institusi hadis, Nabi Muhammad telah didewa-dewakan, berlawanan dengan ajaran beliau, dan ini akhirnya membawa kepada kejatuhan umat Islam. [8]


Kita melihat banyak contoh umat-umat lain - Yahudia, Kristian, Hindu, Buddhist -, yang percaya dan menyembah banyak Tuhan, sedangkan mereka semuanya dikirim nabi dan rasul yang mengajar mereka ajaran Tuhan yang sama, iaitu: "Tiada tuhan melainkan Tuhan Yang Esa. Sembahlah Dia Saja."[9]. Contoh Nabi Isa suatu contoh yang baik bagaimana beliau ditukar menjadi anak Tuhan dalam satu doktrin Tritunggal yang dibuat oleh Paul setelah beliau mati.[10] Semua masyarakat agama yang menyembah banyak tuhan, seperti Hindu, melalui proses pemerosotan konsep Tuhan Yang Esa yang asal. Malah umat Islam sendiri, dengan pendewaan mereka terhadap Nabi Muhammad dan terhadap pemimpin-pemimpin agama, tidak terkecuali daripada proses ini.[11] (Kassim Ahmad, 2011, laman 3)"


# Bila dibaca yang diatas ini, aku tersoal, tertanya dan teruji:


1) Banyak hadis palsu timbul # Jika dilihat dalam gerak hidup masyarakat Muslim Melayu kita..banyak juga yang aku musykilkan..contohnya...malam-malam ramadhan akan dihiasi dengan tazkirah pendek menetapkan nikmat-nikmat dan ganjaran yang bakal diperoleh jika kita menunaikan solat tarawikh pada malam-malam tertentu..dari yang pertama hingga malam menjelang Syawal.dan dipendengaran telinga, tiada pula dimaklumi tentang sanad dan perawi dan bukti dari Al-Quran untuk membuktikan kesahihan "kata-kata galakan ibadah ini". Persoalannya, dari mana boleh timbulnya janji-janji seperti ini?


"Issshhh...tak baik Gie, mempersoalkan hukum agama...berdosa tau!" hati aku kadang-kadang kencang mengingatkan..


Persoalan pokok: bukan hukum Allah yang aku pertikaikan..segala amal ibadah dan perbuatan baik tuh memang dah termaktub dalam Al-Quran bakal diberi ganjaran..hatta sebesar zarah..walau sekadar niat. Yang dipersoalkan disini, oleh seorang aku yang daif jahil agama ini ialah: dari mana datangnya ayat-ayat galakan ibadah seperti di atas? Adakah ianya bersumberkan hadis dan sunnah? Betulkah ianya wujud atau sekadar kata-kata perangsang agar kita lebih rajin bertarawikh?


Dalam Islam...matlamat tidak menghalalkan cara..walaupun niat kita mungkin baik-untuk menggalakkan ummah mengimarahkan masjid bagi sesi tarawikh, tapi bolehkah kita ada-adakan apa yang mungkin tiada???Aku terkesima dalam persoalan sendiri...mungkin aku patut tanya kakakku, Ustazah Norhapizah dalam masa terdekat ni..


2) Pendewaan terhadap Nabi Muhammad dan pemimpin-pemimpin agama # Teman-teman, kalu pikir logik lah...sedangkan pendewaan kepada Nabi Muhammad, pemimpin-pemimpin agama, yang menurut penulis (bersandarkan kepada rujukan beliau) pun boleh saja membawa kepada syirik..apatah lagi kalau didewa-dewakan pemimpin-pemimpin politik...kesatuan...pertubuhan...kumpulan..


Mesej yang aku cuba sampaikan disini...kita dah menghampiri Pilihan Raya Umum...berpolitik/berpersatuan/berkumpulan pun berpada-padalah...pemimpin-pemimpin ini adalah manusia berdarah merah, bernafsu dan berotak sama seperti kita...didepan lain, dibelakang tah macam mana...maka kau sokonglah berpada-pada...bangkang pun berpada-pada..siapa kita untuk tahu apa yang terselindung disebalik muka dan hati manusia?


Kita manusia..mereka juga manusia..tak berbaloi weh gaduh-gaduh..tokok dosa..cantas pahala hanya disebabkan parti politik...dalam kuburan pun, tiada soalan parti politik manakah yang disokong..kena selalu beringat...ahli politik dan pemimpin yang benar-benar menjihadkan Islam adalah dua perkara yang besar bezanya...dan di tanah tumpah negara ku ini...yang aku nampak dari parti CAP SAUH, CAP MATAHARI, CAP JET PEJUANG, CAP MATA SATU dll... keperibadian politiknya lebih kuat dari keperibadian Muslim sejati itu sendiri..sekadar pandangan peribadi...entahlah...
